Waterloo Lodge Dublin Reviews

Very hospital and accommodating. Had to arrive late in the evening and they went out of their way to ensure I was able to check in. Great breakfast! Highly recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff greeted me on arrival. My room was excellent and very clean with free internet wireless. Good to have the free car parking and breakfast in the price which was a very good price for the quality of accommodation and service.

The general atmosphere was great and so was the breakfast. The room was well equipped with everything we needed. A Luke Kelly admirer, I was pleased with the location, Raglan Road is around the corner! Your young lady Amber is a gem.

Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, great cooked breakfast. Hotel was located approx. 15 mins walk to Trinity College, with plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. I arrived at 11am and was already able to check in.

We stayed in the triple room with a teenage child. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You have two options for breakfast -- continental and traditional Irish (bacon, sausage, potatoes, egg and beans). Both were very nice.

It was within easy reach of the Aviva stadium which was our reason for visiting Dublin. The room although small was very clean, the choices for breakfast was excellent and the food was good and well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dear Hotel Staff, It was my second vist in Dublin and first in this Hotel, so was suprised a lot with the standard you keep your hotel. Very friendly reception, she is brilliant. The first impression from any hotel is reception that is half of management . Very nice breakfast room and cousy athmosphire generally. Thank you,it made my short trip easier and I would love to recommend anybody who go to Dublin and will be looking for accomodation. Many thanks and regards your reception lady, Dr Olga

Waterloo lodge has the most friendly, welcoming staff you can imagine! Nothing was too much trouble to make my stay as good as possible. It's about a 15 minute walk to Grafton St/Trinity so is a good location for exploring the city and very reasonable for city centre prices, but is quiet. There is a bus stop right outside (no 10/10A) which runs to the city centre - but I found it to be a bit hit and miss and as the weather was nice, just walked. The bus system is somewhat confusing and even the bus drivers seemd to have no clue! My room was lovely - really nicely furnished and very clean. The only thing that wasn't so great was the shower in my room. It filled the bottom within about 3 minutes and had to turn it off as it was threatening to flood the floor. Also the shower door didn't close particularly easily. However, the staff are genuinely keen to fix/improve things and as this happened just before I was leaving they had no chance to rectify this. I am sure that had they known, they'd have done something about it and once I e-mail them I'm sure they will have this sorted in no time. I would definitely recommend Waterloo Lodge and if I'm in Reviewed by

perfect !
Arrived at 11pm because of transfer from airport, but they opened the door and were really friendly ! The room was lovely, really clean, it's a quiet area so no early wake-up ! The breakfast was everything you can expect, and everyone was really friendly. Just 20 min walk from St Stephen's park, or 10 min from Dart station, I would definitely recommend this place.

'Brilliant time in Dublin. Our hotel was a wonderful old house with very comfortable, clean rooms though a little on the small side and not luxurious. The price was very reasonable,. The owners were so helpful and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. We miss their breakfasts already. Will be back.'

' Two friends and myself stayed in the Waterloo Lodge last August. We liked it so much we booked again and we have just enjoyed another 4 nights there - staying over for the St Patrick Celebrations. We decided to go back because the place was exactly what we wanted.
The prices were reasonable, the staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful, the beds were clean and comfortable, we had en-suite toilet and shower (all the hot water we wanted!) and the breakfast was more than enough - a choice of cereals, fruit juice, fruit, a large cooked full 'Irish', soda bread, toast, a choice of jams and marmalades and all the tea, coffee and toast you wanted. Some other guests had other requests and these were quickly and cheerfully supplied. The food was always fresh and hot as was the tea, coffee and toast!
I was amazed to read some of the very negative comments on this site. Yes the place is basic but that's what I would expect in a reasonably priced city guest house. If I wanted 5 star hotel accomodation I would go to a 5 star hotel and pay 5 star prices!
I certainly would not go to a guest house and then tear it to pieces simply because I wasn't willing to pay for what I really wanted!
If you want basic, friendly and cheerful with a clean comfortable bed and a good filling breakfast then I recommend this place. It's also in a good area with nice friendly pubs and a short bus ride or a 15-20 minute walk takes you to the city centre.
The three of us have aleady agreed that whenever we return to Dublin - this is where we will stay.'
